What my lyrics mean and how I was inspired to write them: Verse 1

I have made it so that every line of the verses start with 'I remember' to form a type of continuity and repetition for the listener to realise that I am simply looking back on my past.

The first line 'I remember, me and you, sitting in a tree' comes from when me and my ex would just chill out on the tree holding hands and kissing as you do, but why the tree you might ask? Its because this certain tree is in my garden but between other trees in its own little area so not so easy to find but not dangerous because it had a lot of space around it and sadly last year when the winds were so fast and violent it blew down that tree and we had to stop sitting there and since the break up I felt that I should add a real happy moment to it. The song was actually intended to win her back but sadly it was too late.

The next line 'I remember, holding your hand, walking up a beach' came from when we took a little trip together to Italy and we ended up walking on the beach it was incredibly romantic especially with the glistening ocean mirroring the moon and the stars.

'I remember, where we first met, under a bridge' is actually quite a funny one because a couple of years ago I was running away from a guy who claimed to have a knife trying to mug me and I ran under a bridge (this part I still wonder if it was fate or just a strange coincidence) to hide and this is where I saw 'Sophie' my ex who was crying because she had just been mugged for her phone and handbag, so I sat down to comfort her and try make her feel better, then out the blue the mugger turns up and tripped over something, I then rushed over whilst he was lying on the floor and took all our stuff back which had fallen out of his pocket apart from my fiver which had ended up in the river sadly.

'I remember, our first kiss, in Best Kebab' came from our first actual date when we had come back from London and she was still hungry so we went to a Kebab shop which I cannot recall their name but I called them Best Kebab from that moment on because of what happened next, I bought her a Kebab and she kissed me out of the blue, it was an incredibly cute moment in my opinion.

Then the chorus is simply saying how I miss her, and the amount of tears that had flown down my face could have turned into a stream, but the next part of the chorus is another remembering scene, from where we used to chase trains and do various acting scenes on trains just to see peoples reactions, so I thought well I can't do that anymore at least not on my own so I made that line about chasing trains to sum it up.
