Rock music videos tend to have strong atmospheres which helps reflect the strong hardcore effects that the song gives off and they help reflect the power coming from the bands with their darker coloured clothing mainly blood red and black but every band is different in what they wear.
for example you can expect to see a B.C Rich type of guitar in most Rock videos or a dark coloured Gibson SG or Les Paul, but then Dave Grohl from the Foo fighters always uses his brighter than dark, blue guitar.
Most Rock music videos show the band playing at a gig or live concert so that the atmosphere from the audience can be appreciated by the viewer watching/ listening to the song.
